Dr. Georgiev's professional path started in 2013 when he began to work on his PhD thesis at the Clinic of Rheumatology at St. Ivan Rilski University Hospital in Sofia, defended in 2018. Since 2014 he has been a resident at the same clinic, and in 2018 successfully acquired a specialty in rheumatology. Dr. Georgiev is practicing musculoskeletal ultrasound and holds an intermediate level certificate (EULAR).
Since 2017, he has been reviewing for some of the most prestigious scientific journals in the field of rheumatology and medicine: Rheumatology International, where he is currently Associate Editor, Journal of Experimental Orthopedics (JEXO), Medical Principles and Practice, Archives of Rheumatology. He has published a number of articles in prestigious medical journals.

He belongs to 2012 class of the Medical University - Sofia.
He defended his PhD thesis with a title "Clinical, serological and imaging studies in patients with knee osteoarthritis treated with different therapeutic agents".
During his fellowship he studied and worked in the largest and most prestigious rheumatology clinic in Bulgaria.
Successfully completed MSK ultrasonography course under the auspices of the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) - basic and intermediate level.
Practical course of the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis International Society (ASAS) for the detection of pathology in magnetic resonance imaging of patients with spondyloarthritis.
