Do you need a rheumatologist?

We all experience musculoskeletal complaints from time to time, but when the pain in the joints, muscles, neck, back and bones becomes unbearable or lasts for a long time, you should refer to a rheumatologist.

Rheumatologists deal with the diagnostic process and conservative treatment of rheumatic diseases - more than 100 conditions involving the musculoskeletal and/or the immune system. As experts in this field, we (rheumatologists) are well trained and strive to identify and evaluate your symptoms. We know that it is a must to put the right diagnosis as early as possible in order to initiate appropriate treatment. Many of these diseases best respond in their early stages.

Rheumatic diseases present with a variety of clinical manifestations and the majority of them are chronic, so you may have to visit your rheumatologist office several times before a definitive diagnosis is made. The diagnostic process typically involves taking a complete medical history, physical examination and if necessary blood and imaging studies.
